Local schools called 'dropout factories'

A recent report, comment on in the Enterprise, labelled certain schools 'dropout factories.'

Middleboro High School graduated 171 students in June 2007.
An educator told me that 300 students began the graduating class.
If true, that's a 57% graduation rate.

The numbers in the article don't seem to jibe with the numbers on the DOE website. It would be interesting to know why they don't agree.
