Brewster has an alternative energy committee? Impressive!

Brewster - Alternative energy for town hall may not be financially viable, but voters at the spring town meeting will still have a chance to weigh in on it.

Reporting to selectmen this week, John Cunningham of the alternative energy committee said most of the options the committee looked at for replacing town hall’s aging boiler had very long “payback” periods – the amount of time energy savings would make up for the initial cost...... CapeCodder

Why can't T_G draft a petition calling for the creation of an Alternative Energy Committee, gather signatures, and present it to the BOS? T_G has the background and expertise to serve on such a committee? Seems it would be hard for the BOS to argue against the formation of such a group.

I'm not quite sure to whom you are referring by 'T_G,' but as a point of information ANY 10 voters may sign a petition for ANY type of Warrant Article to be added to Town Meeting Warrant.
In fact, that is what was done to add the 2 Oak Point Articles to the Warrant.
There are a number of other articles that are being considered at this time. Perhaps they deserve a discussion thread on nemasket?
You just need to be aware that a competent attorney needs to research the pertinent law and Town Charter to draw the petitions and $$ participation will be required.
